I like hints of boldness in eye make for women over 40. A small line in a bold color can do the trick or just a dash of bold color in the corner. it adds a sense of fun and edgyness to your look. When doing something bold with the eye it’s best to keep the other makeup more understated. The opposite is true also. If you like a bold lip, keep the eyes more neutral.

I enjoy wearing bright colors, but I always settle for neutral makeup. There are so many pictures of bright makeup looks, but they’re much too bold for me. Before I apply mascara (after applying liner and shadow) I use a small thin brush and apply black shadow at my lash line to fill in any liner gaps – adds fullness to my lashes. Hope this suggestion is helpful.

This super-thin-tip liner is almost “idiot-proof,” and it lasts well on my super-oily lids. I’m brunette, so I use the Ultra Black shade, and use the Sigma E30 pencil brush to draw a soft line over the liquid with a matte black-brown eyeshadow (like Anastasia Beverly Hills “Smoke”). This results in a defined but soft look.
