Hi Felicia, it sounds that you’re still too much attached to the past. There’s really no benefit in that. Your body has changed. You’re still the same person but because you think differently about this body than the body you used to have, you think you can no longer look good in your clothes. If you go shopping with that belief about yourself, it’s very hard to find the right clothes.

You need to start believing that you can look good in your clothes (because you absolute CAN) and then go shopping with that mindset. That’s when you’ll want to go shopping and find the right clothes.

I used to have no trouble and basically wore anything I felt comfortable in. I used to wear costume broches(?) And ’50’s style clothing mix with up to date clothing when I was younger…and thinner! The Thrift store and my granny and Aunt’s old jewelry were my places to dress from!!! I felt free and fashionable…I felt that was who I was. Now at 50 and 100 lbs bigger, AND apple shaped, I don’t know who I am. I’m really not vain or think clothes make you, but I think they build confidence and when you look good you feel good. I no longer feel good, sometimes I dread shopping whereas I used to shop all day! Not to mention my bestie is beautiful and dresses so well, sometimes I get embarrassed to be seen with here because I don’t feel stylish enough. I need my spark back.

In hindsight I thought the boots weren’t right with this outfit. Only looked at the photo after I wore it. Had I taken a photo of the outfit in the mirror before wearing it, I would have known.
